November is the perfect month for inner work and transformation. A peaceful time where most people feel a sense of calm with the changing of the leaves, the quiet before the holiday season, and a stillness in the air. With this inner stillness it allows us to go deeper within ourselves.
Amethyst is found on all continents with the largest deposits coming from Brazil and Zambia. It is a stone of a multitude of benefits such as cleansing, protection, and inspiration. This well-rounded healing crystal provides physical, mental, and spiritual benefits. It can calm or stimulate the mind, whichever is needed. Amethyst reduces scattered thoughts, calms the mind and allows space to focus & attune to a higher level of thought.
Through amplifying intuition and common sense, overall decision making and memory is improved. Amethyst can also strengthen the endocrine system and balance hormones, achieving harmony in the body & reducing stress.
Place it by the bed to aid with sleep and dream recall. Carry Amethyst, place it on the body, or meditate near it to benefit from its properties.
Ashwagandha is a small evergreen shrub typically found on the Indian subcontinent. Traditionally, only the root of the plant is used and its name loosely translates to “the smell and strength of a horse,” alluding to its potential to boost vitality.
Ashwagandha may help with a wide range of issues such as nerve regeneration, immune support, stress reduction, hormone balance & enhance sexual potency. As an adaptogen, it is an important herb in Ayurvedic medicine as it achieves balance in the body by adapting itself to either boost energy or invoke calmness.
Memory, learning, and cognitive function can improve when the body is in balance. It may also help achieve holistic rejuvenation through harmony of the chi and chakra energies. Use it to enhance Kundalini spiritual practices as it opens and strengthens the root chakra. Ashwagandha can be taken as a tea (make using the decoction method) or mix the powder into your everyday cooking, warm drinks, oatmeal, honey or ghee.
Frankincense Essential Oil
Frankincense oil, also known as Olibanum, has a woody, spicy, slightly lemony fragrance. The oil is distilled from the Boswellia tree/bark resin originating in the Middle East, Africa, & India.
Frankincense may help reduce stress by calming the mind & nervous system and increasing mindfulness. It has also been helpful with alleviating pain, speeding up wound healing, and reducing scarring. Promoting the movement of Qi (vital energy or life force), frankincense can help to revitalize and uplift. Representing the element of fire, it can be used in spiritual rituals and meditations to help drive away negative energies.
Place drops of Frankincense oil in a carrier oil or unscented lotion to use topically or add in a diffuser.
